the doors leurs premiere album
The Doors est le premier disque du groupe du même nom, sorti en Janvier 1967. Il contient certains morceaux qui deviendront de grands classiques (Break on Through, Light My Fire, ...). Le film Apocalypse Now sur la guerre du Viêt Nam reprend The End comme chanson thème.

Strange Days' est le second album des Doors, sorti à la fin de l'année 1967. Il est considéré par certains comme le meilleur album du groupe. Ce concept album contient des chansons telles que "Strange Days", "People are strange", "Love me two times" et "When the music's over", cette dernière étant souvent comparée à la célèbre "The End" du fait de sa forme - un long poème épique. L'album s'inscrit dans le prolongement du premier album; en effet, lors de l'enregistrement de ce premier, les Doors avaient énormément de matière. Les chansons qui n'avaient pas été retenues pour le premier album se sont finalement retrouvées sur ce seconde opus.
L'album comporte Moonlight Drive, une des première chansons écrite par Jim Morrison pour les Doors. Elle a été enregistrée en 1965 - en tant que démo - et en 1966 (à l'origine, pour leur première album). En 1967, une version finale a été enregistrée et incluse dans l'album Strange Days. L'atmosphère mystique et mystérieuse qui se dégage de cet album est souvent comparée au son de Carmina Burana.
En 2003, l'album a été classé 407ème sur une liste des 500 meilleurs albums de tous les temps par le magazine Rolling Stone
